Holiday Cottage Booking Information
Our principal booking conditions are shown below, together with some useful information to assist you in planning your self catering holiday. Please contact us if you have any questions. Our full booking conditions will be provided during the booking process.
- Once a booking has been confirmed, a binding contract will exist between the principal guest who makes the booking and the cottage owner. Best Choice Cottages Ltd acts only as an agent of the owner and is not a party to the contract.
Making A Booking
Weekly bookings run either from Friday to Friday or from Saturday to Saturday in summer high season. Weekly bookings in low season will usually run from Friday to Friday.
- Short Breaks
Short breaks are usually available in low season, excluding Christmas and New Year. They may also be offered in high season, but usually only on a last minute basis. These are either three-night weekend breaks from Friday to Monday or four-night midweek breaks from Monday to Friday.
- Arrival And Departure
Unless otherwise advised at the time of booking or agreed subsequently in writing, arrival is from 4.00 pm and departure by no later than 10.00 am.
- Booking Methods
Bookings can be made on-line or by telephone unless a property is shown as book by telephone only. If a customer chooses to ignore the book by telephone only directions shown for individual cottages then BCC cannot guarantee availability and will not be held responsible for any costs incurred by a customer who proceeds to book on-line.
Card payments can be made on-line, by telephone, BACS Transfer or cheque payments can be sent by post. Cheques should be made payable to 'Best Choice Cottages Ltd'.
- Payment By Credit Card
Please note that payments by credit card will attract a surcharge of 2% to cover the fees that we have to pay to the card companies. No surcharge applies to payments using debit cards or cheques. You will be asked to choose your payment method at the end of the booking process.
All prices are shown in Pounds GB. All payments must be made in Pounds GB. All prices are inclusive of VAT (if applicable). All payments must be made to the agent. All prices are inclusive of linen, electricity, gas, etc, unless otherwise stated in the cottage particulars. Where such exceptions apply, any additional payment will be collected from the guest by the owner during the guest's stay in the cottage.
- Booking Fee
A booking fee of £25.00 per cottage is payable in addition to the prices shown.
A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the cost of the holiday is required at the time of booking. The balance is payable ten weeks prior to the arrival date. If the booking is made within ten weeks of the arrival date, the rent must be paid in full at the time of booking.
- Booking Confirmations
All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation. When the guest submits an on-line booking request, the availability will be updated and the property will be held for the guest on a provisional basis. Thereafter, the guest must pay the deposit (or full payment if within ten weeks of the arrival date) by cheque or credit / debit card. The booking will only be complete once the agent has sent final written confirmation to the guest.
- Cots, High Chairs and Stair-Gates
Most owners can provide high chairs, travel cots (without linen) and stair gates. Refer to the cottage particulars for details. Where the guest requires these, he should specify this at the time of booking to ensure availability.
Some cottages are more suitable than others for mobility-impaired guests. Where applicable, general information about any facilities for the disabled will be included in the cottage particulars. If one or more of the guest's party has a mobility impairment, the guest should contact the agent by telephone or email before making a booking.
- Smoking Policy
For the comfort of all of our guests, a strict no-smoking policy applies to all of our cottages.
Pets are not allowed unless otherwise stated in the cottage particulars. Where pets are allowed, one well behaved and correctly managed dog may be brought to the cottage by the guest, provided that this was agreed at the time of booking. The guest undertakes that the dog will not be allowed on furnishings or in bedrooms, and will not at any time be left unattended in the cottage. The guest will take such steps as are necessary to ensure that the dog does not cause annoyance or distress to others, including members of the public. The guest may be required to pay an additional cleaning charge per stay. If applicable, this will be notified to the guest at the time of booking.
- Damage Deposit
Some owners may require payment of a damage deposit on or before arrival.
- Holiday Cancellation Insurance
Guests are strongly recommended to obtain suitable holiday cancellation insurance.
